Study of choice
There is no single diagnostic study of choice for the diagnosis of vertigo.
Sequence of Diagnostic Studies
- A detailed history with an evaluation of associated signs and symptoms.
- A focal HEENT, neurological and cardiovascular examination
- Neuroimaging preferable an MRI if new onset headache, neurological signs and symptoms, normal head impulse test and acute deafness.[1]
Name of Diagnostic Criteria
There are no established criteria for the diagnosis of vertigo.
