Pharyngoconjunctival fever is caused by adenovirus infection. Often found in summer camps and during the spring and fall in schools.Affected age group is 5-18.
Symptoms
- high fever that lasts 4-5 days
- pharyngitis (sore throat)
- conjunctivitis (inflammed eyes, usually without pus formation like pink eye)
- enlargement of the lymph nodes of the neck
- headache, malaise, and weakness
