Overview
Chest x rays may be used as a diagnostic tool in the evaluation of acute bronchitis. As a modality, chest x rays can be limited in diagnostic imaging quality and may often be elected to be used in conjunction with other diagnostic modalities. The chest x-ray may show features suggesting a pneumonia-like] condition involving hyperinflation and collapse and consolidation of lung areas.
Common Findings
A chest x ray findings may include:
- Hyperinflation
- Collapse and consolidation of lung areas
Some conditions that predispose to bronchitis may be indicated by chest radiography.
