Overview

Atrioventricular canal is the combination of the following abnormalities;

• a hole in the wall dividing the heart's upper chambers (atrial septal defect),
• a hole in the wall separating the heart's lower chambers (ventricular septal defect)
• anatomical abnormalities of the tricuspid and mitral valves.
