Overview
A condition that mimics Bartter's syndrome which is due instead to furosemide treatment.
Diagnosis
Laboratory Findings
The disorder is characterized by
- Hypokalemic-hypochloremic alkalosis
- Hyperactivity of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system
- Increased aldosterone
- Normal blood pressure (normotension)
- Inactivity of angiotensin II
- Increased urinary PGE2
- Increased ANP
