Overview
Screening helps in identification of impending encephalopathy or detection of subclinical encephalopathy. Presently strategies for detecting subclinical hepatic encephalopathy[1] and neonatal encephalopathy due to raised bilurubin levels exist.
Screening
Subclinical Hepatic Encephalopathy A study involved detecting encephalopathy in patients of cirrhosis. Psychometric assessment, automated analysis of EEG and sickness impact profile are used to diagnose the encephalopathy. Combined evaluation of results of these tests helps in detecting subclinical encephalopathy.[1]
