Overview
Appendiceal mucocele results from chronic appendiceal obstruction. It may be caused by either benign or malignant leisons like mucinous neoplasms (mucinous cystadenoma or mucinous cystadenocarcinoma)and appendiceal carcinoid. It's complication is rupture which may lead to pseudomyxoma peritonei.
CT images demonstrate a mucocele of the appendix
