Medical Therapy
- calcium supplementation
- dietary phosphate restriction
- vitamin D
- phosphate binders calcium carbonate (Tums), calcium acetate (PhosLo), sevelamer hydrochloride (Renagel), or lanthanum carbonate (Fosrenol)
- cinacalcet - a calcimimetic
- frequent hemodialysis (five times a week) is thought to be of benefit[1]
