Overview
The Diverticulosis described as early as 17th century but, most of the information we now have is based on much of the work during the 20th century[1].
Historical Perspective
- Littre, in 1700, mentioned "diverticular hernia" without explaining it[2].
- It was Graser in 1899 who actually described the condition of diverticulitis and Beer in 1904 who correlated the histologic and clinical features[3].
