Physical Examination
- The physical examination occasionally reveals signs of disease, but it is otherwise normal.
Eyes
- Retinal edema can be a sign of methanol (methyl alcohol) intoxication.
Neurologic
- Cranial nerve abnormalities can be observed in ethylene glycol poisoning.
Extremities
- Longstanding chronic metabolic acidosis leads to osteoporosis and can cause fractures.
