Shown below are recommended measures for patients with PAH:[1]
- Avoid pregnancy
- Rigorous follow up in case of pregnancy
- Avoid unnecessary surgeries
- Multidisciplinary care in case of necessary surgery
- Avoid high altitude
- Supplemental oxygen in order to ensure a target oxygen saturation of 91% in case of exposure to high altitude
- Up-to-date immunizations against influenza and pneumococcal pneumonia
