Overview
Enterovirus 68 infection presents with symptoms of an acute respiratory tract infection. The most common symptoms of this viral infection include cough, dyspnea, and fever
History and symptoms
- The majority of people who are infected with enterovirus 68 (EV-D68) and other non-polio enteroviruses only develop mild illness.
- Patients develop symptoms of a common cold. In some cases, such as children or asthmatic patients, it may progress to a more severe respiratory infection.
- Enterovirus 68 subtype is associated with upper respiratory tract infection symptoms, such as:[1][2][3][4][5][6]
