Overview
The most common symptoms of Hodgkin's lymphoma include fatigue, fever and chills, itching, loss of appetite, soaking night sweats, weight loss, and painless swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck, axilla, or groin (swollen glands). Less common symptoms of Hodgkin's lymphoma include coughing, chest pain, breathing problems, pain or feeling of fullness below the ribs, pain in lymph nodes after drinking alcohol, skin blushing or flushing, bone pain, and leg swelling.
Symptoms
- The most common symptoms of Hodgkin's lymphoma include the following:[1]
- Fatigue
- Fever (Pel-Ebstein fever) and chills
- Itching all over the body that cannot be explained
- Loss of appetite
- Soaking night sweats
- Weight loss that cannot be explained
- Painless swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck, axilla, or groin (swollen glands)
- Less common symptoms of Hodgkin's lymphoma include the following:
- Cough, chest pain, or breathing problems if there are swollen lymph nodes in the chest
- Pain or feeling of fullness below the ribs due to swollen spleen or liver
- Pain in lymph nodes after drinking alcohol
- Skin blushing or flushing
- Bone pain
- Swelling of legs may be caused by extra fluid if swollen lymph nodes are blocking the flow of lymph fluid [2]
- Systemic symptoms such as fever and weight loss are known as B symptoms.
