Vulvar cancer must be differentiated from other neoplastic vulvar lesions, non neoplastic vulvar lesions and infectious disease lesions of vulva.
Differential Diagnosis
1. Vulvar cancer must be differentiated from other neoplastic vulvar lesions such as:
- Paget disease of the vulva
- (VIN) vulvar intraepithelial neoplasm.
2. Vulvar cancer must be differentiated from other non neoplastic vulvar lesions such as:
- Lichen sclerosus
- Squamous cell hyperplasia
- Vulvar vestibulitis
3. Vulvar cancer must be differentiated from infectious disease lesions of vulva such as:
- Herpes genitalis
- Human papillomavirus
- Syphilis
- Chancroid
- Granuloma inguinale
- Lymphogranuloma venereum
