Overview
Head CT scan may be diagnostic of ependymoma. Findings on CT scan suggestive of ependymoma include heterogeneous mass with coarse calcification, solid component, and cystic component.
CT
Common CT sacn findings associated with ependymoma are:[1]
- Heterogeneous mass with:
-
A large, heterogeneous mass is present within the left frontal lobe. It is strikingly hyperdense, without definite calcification. The solid component enhances. Hydrocephalus is present, best seen on the right, due to outflow obstruction (noncontrast CT)[2]
