* 5-9 days duration
* Low grade fever, anorexia, and malaise
* May have meningitis or orchitis symptoms

* 30-60 yo males
* Localized bilateral parotid tenderness
* Intermittent pain and swelling which suddenly get worse before meals
 
* Tenderness, erythema, and a palpable hard lump at submandibular gland region
 
* Pus discharging from the duct (infection)
* Increased serum amylase
* radiopaque mass in duct of submandibular gland on Xray
 
* Filling defect within the duct on sialographygland
 
* Enlarged and hyperdense gland associated with calcification on CT
* Parotid enlargement on CT
* Increased in homogeneous parenchymal density
* Mild overlying subcutaneous smudging
