  • Asymptomatic
  • Incidental finding
  • Variable size
  • Clear to straw-colored fluid
  • Rupture of a simple renal cyst can cause hematuria and/or flank pain
  • Oval shape anechoic mass on U/S
  • Well-marginated lesion with thin smooth walls
  • Strong posterior acoustic enhancement
  • Cyst surrounded by a single layer of flattened , cuboidal, or atrophic epithelium
