Overview
Laryngitis could result from infectious or noninfectious causes and common causes of laryngitis are due to viral infections, which include rhinovirus, adenovirus, influenza virus, parainfluenza virus and respiratory syncytial virus. Other causes of laryngitis include bacterial infections such as staphylococcus aureus and haemophilus influenzae.
