Overview
The main symptoms are reddish-brown slightly scaly patches with sharp borders. The patches occur in moist areas such as the groin, armpit, and skin folds. They may itch slightly and often look like patches associated with other fungal infections, such as ringworm.
History
Erythrasma patients should be examined for history of the following:
- Overweight or obesity
- Diabetes
- Hyperhidrosis[1]
Symptoms
Erythrasma usually presents with the following symptoms:[2]
- Reddish-brown scaly patches, usually manifesting in skin folds
- Itching
- Pain if irritated
- Skin shedding
