Classification
Candida vulvovaginitis can be divided based on the strain of Candida causing the infection:[1][2][3]
- C. albicans: comprises the majority of cases of Candida vulvovaginitis
- C. glabrata: it is the second most common causative pathogen
- C. tropicalis
- C. krusei
- C. parapsilosis
