Overview
Malaria is diagnosed by complementing the clinical findings of the patient with malaria-specific diagnostic studies. PCR is being used to help with malaria elimination.[1]
Other Diagnostic Studies
Other diagnostic studies like PCR, are being used to help with malaria elimination.
PCR
Malaria is diagnosed by complementing the clinical findings of the patient with malaria-specific diagnostic studies. PCR has recently been utilized in studies related to malaria.[1]
- ddPCR is a technology based on water oil emulsion.
- It has high sensitivity in detecting even minute number of Plasmodium species found in human body.
- It can detect all human Plasmodium types.
- It can be used for malaria elimination by the detection of asymptomatic parasites
