Physical Examination
The following physical examination findings may be present in patients with whipworm infection.
General Appearance
Patient will appear in no distress.
HEENT
- Pallor may be present.
Cardiovascular
- S1 and S2 will be heard with no murmurs.
Respiratory
- Normal vesicular breath sounds will be heard.
Abdomen
- Abdominal tendernes will be present.
- Rectal prolapse may be present in patients with severe infection.
CNS
- CNS examination will be normal.
Extremeties
- Finger nail clubbing may be present in patients with severe infection.
