Causes

- PPH is a life-threatening cause of Sheehan's syndrome.
Common Causes
Sheehan syndrome may be caused by:
- Massive hemorrhage
- Conditions leading to hypotension during pregnancy
- Vascular compression
- Vascular occlusion(thrombosis, DIC)
Less Common Causes
Less common causes of Sheehan's syndrome include:
- Vascular insufficiency due to CABG in older patients[1]
- Snake bites(Russell's viper bites).
Genetic Causes
- Sheehan's syndrome is not associated with any genetic mutation.
