Overview
Non-contrast CT scan may be used in de Quervain's thyroiditis to assess the esophageal or tracheal compression.
CT scan
CT scan may be used to assess the evaluate the esophageal or tracheal compression. Contrast enhanced CT scanimages are sharper but they can induce thyrotoxicosis so non-contrast CT scan is preferred in thyroid abnormalities.[1]
