The following blood tests may be done:
- Bilirubin level
- Liver enzyme levels
- Liver function tests
- White blood count (WBC)
- Blood cultures
Anaerobes may be cultured in 15% of cases.
Laboratory studies show cholestasis, variable transaminase levels, leukocytosis, and positive blood cultures.
