Other diagnostic studies
Electron microscopy and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis are used in some laboratories in addition or as an alternative to EIA. A reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) has been developed to detect and identify all three groups of human rotaviruses.
