Overview
X-Ray
There is no particular role for x-ray in thalassemia. However, in patients who have received multiple transfusions, X-ray of the chest can be done to assess for fluid overload in the lungs. Pulmonary edema can be visualized as opacities in the pleural space on chest X-ray.[1]
