Overview
Mesenteric ischemia is one of the life-threatening gastrointestinal vascular emergencies which requires prompt surgical/medical intervention depending upon the underlying causes which broadly categorizing, may be acute or chronic vascular and hemodynamic.
Common causes in the development of mesenteric ischemia can be divided into occlusive/non-occlusive, arterial/venous, localized/generalized and superficial/transmural.[1]
Risk Factors
- There are no established risk factors for [disease name].
OR
- The most potent risk factor in the development of [disease name] is [risk factor 1]. Other risk factors include [risk factor 2], [risk factor 3], and [risk factor 4].
- Common risk factors in the development of [disease name] include [risk factor 1], [risk factor 2], [risk factor 3], and [risk factor 4].
Common Risk Factors
- Common risk factors in the development of mesenteric ischemia may be occlusive, non-occlusive.
- Common risk factors in the development of mesenteric ischemia include:[2]
- Atrial fibrillation
- Congestive heart failure
- Myocardial infarction
- Aortic insufficiency
- Renal diseases
