Overview
Screening
- Point of care ultrasound can be used as a screening tool in pediatric cholecystitis, where children present with abdominal pain.[1]
- In critically ill patients, ultrasound has insufficient evidence to be a sensitive screening test for acalculous cholecystitis.[2]
- For chronic cholecystits due to pancreatic biliary reflux, bile amylase concentrations may be a useful screening tool.[3]
