Overview
On chest x-ray, diaphragmatic hernia is characterized by bowel loops in the thoracic cavity and shifting of the mediastinum to the contralateral side.

- Bowel loops in the thoracic cavity (can be further demonstrated through placement of a feeding tube)
- Shifting of the mediastinum to the contralateral side
