Overview
Medical Therapy
Conservative management of Boerhaave syndrome consists of:[1][2]
- Intravenous fluids should be instituted.
- Antibiotics: Imipenem/cilastatin
- Nasogastric suction
- Keep the patient NPO.
- Adequate drainage with tube thoracostomy or formal thoracotomy.
