• There is no medical treatment for duodenal atresia, because the mainstay is surgery.
• Medical management to consider in duodenal atresia in preparation for surgery are as follows:
  • Orogastric decompression of the stomach
  • Fluid resuscitation
  • Broad-spectrum antibiotics
  • 1 mg vitamin K
