- Findings on an electroencephalography suggestive of hepatic encephalopathy include:[1]
- Reduced frequency in the posterior derivations
- Increase in interhemispheric parietal relative coherence within the theta band
These findings could be seen in patients with Child class C and in patients with a history of overt hepatic encephalopathy; they correlated with hyperammonemia and hyponatremia.[1]
- Alterations in the electroencephalography are significantly associated with the severity of liver disease and hepatic encephalopathy In patients with cirrhosis.[1]
