- Rigid bronchoscopy may be helpful in the differentiating underlying etiologies of hemoptysis. Bronchoscopy is useful in either:[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
- Diagnosis of etiology
- Localizing the site of bleeding
- Identifying lung cancer
- Isolation of the involved airway
- Control of hemorrhage
- Treatment of the underlying cause of hemoptysis in case of visible endoluminal lesions
