Overview
Chest x-ray may be helpful in the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma of the lung. Findings on x-ray suggestive of adenocarcinoma of the lung include mass, widening of the mediastinum, atelectasis, consolidation, and pleural effusion.
X Ray
- Chest x-ray is the first step in the work up of a patient with symptoms suggestive of lung cancer. Often, lung cancers may be picked up on a routine chest X-ray in an asymptomatic patient.[1]
- X-ray in case of adenocarcinoma of the lung may reveal an obvious mass, widening of the mediastinum (suggestive of spread to lymph nodes), atelectasis, consolidation, or pleural effusion.[1]
