Overview
CT scan may be helpful in diagnosing the CNS complications of hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS). Findings on CT scan suggestive of CNS complications of HUS include infarction, bleeding, cerebral edema, or white matter changes.

- CT scan may be helpful in diagnosing the CNS complications of hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS). Findings on CT scan suggestive of CNS complications of HUS include:[1]
- Infarction
- Bleeding
- Generalized cerebral edema
- White matter changes
- Neuroimaging may also be useful in detecting the severity of CNS manifestations as well as pathological changes occuring in the brain.
- Although CT scan is initially, more detailed changes may be visualized on an MRI.
