Physical Examination

Skin

• Bruising may be present even in mucous membrane called purpura
• Pinpoint dots on skin called petechiae
• Paleness
• Jaundice

Heart

• Tachycrdia

• Dyspnea
• Arrhythmia
• Severe complications; sudden cardiac death, myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, and/or heart failure

Neurologic

• No abnormalities
• Moderate signs; speech changes, confusion
• Severe involvement; focal signs, seizure, stroke, coma

Renal

Other

• Fever

Urine

• Dark urine
