Overview
Head CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of ameloblastoma. Findings on CT scan suggestive of ameloblastoma include multiloculated, soap-bubble" lesion, erosion of the adjacent tooth roots and well demarcated borders with no matrix calcification.
CT
Head CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of ameloblastoma. Findings on CT scan suggestive of ameloblastoma include:[1][2][3]
- Multiloculated.
- High-density areas.
- Bone expansion:mandible size was measured on the CT.
- Bone resorption.
- Tooth resorption.
- Impacted tooth.
- Expansile "soap-bubble" lesion.
- Well demarcated borders.
- No matrix calcification.
- Erosion of the adjacent tooth roots.
- Erosion through cortex into adjacent soft tissues when ameloblastoma is large.
