Overview
An important fact in facing an ulnar fracture is to stabilize the arm to prevent or limit neurovascular injury from sharp bone fragments occurred during the fractures.
Emergency interventions
In an emergency situations facing the trauma caused the ulnar fracture you have to do the following[1][1]:
- Immobilize the forearm and upper arm
- provide effective analgesia
- Identify other injuries
- perform a complete physical examination to exclude other injuries.
- Assess the injured forearm.
- Obtain appropriate radiographs
- Treat the injury expeditiously
- Apply a splint (like a cast)
