Classification

Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the lung can be classified according to WHO classification into 5 subtypes:[1][2]

  • Pleomorphic carcinoma
  • Spindle cell carcinoma
  • Giant cell carcinoma
  • Carcinosarcoma
  • Pulmonary blastoma

Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the lung can also be classified according to their location including:[2]

  • Central
  • Peripheral
