Overview
Other diagnostic studies for the diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma include bone marrow aspiration, bone marrow biopsy, and lumbar puncture.
Other Diagnostic Studies
Lumbar Puncture
Indications
- Aggressive Non Hodgkin Lymphoma with involvement of bone marrow, epidural, testicular, paranasal sinus, or nasopharyngeal involvement, or two or more extranodal sites
- High-grade lymphoblastic lymphoma
- High-grade small noncleaved cell lymphomas (eg, Burkitt and non-Burkitt types)
- HIV-related lymphoma
- Primary CNS lymphoma
- when neurologic signs and symptoms are present
Immunophenotypic Analysis
- It provides information about lineage and clonality and useful for subclassifying certain lymphoma subtypes which may provide therapeutic and prognostic importance.
Other Studies
- Bone marrow biopsy
- Bone marrow aspiration
