Overview

CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of fibroadenoma. Though not the diagnosis of choice, an oval mass with well defined borders can be seen on CT.[1]

CT Scan

  • CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of fibroadenoma.
  • CT scan is not the primary method for evaluating the breast. Usually, breast lesions are found incidentally while interpreting chest scans.[2]
  • Findings on CT scan suggestive of fibroadenoma include:[2]
  • Oval mass
  • Well-defined borders
  • Calcified or non calcified nodule
  • Heterogeneous enhancement
