Gonadoblastoma mainly develops in the context of gonadal dysgenesis. common causes of gonadoblastoma are:Turner syndrome, XY gonadal dysgenesis, Frasier syndrome, WAGR syndrome, Swyer syndrome, and 9p partial monosomy.

- There are no life-threatening causes of gonadoblastoma, however complications resulting from coexisting dysgerminoma is possible.
