Overview
Routine neuroimaging, Electroencephalography (EEG) and Genetic testing are not recommended in patients with Asperger Syndrome (AS).
Neuroimaging
Routine clinical neuroimaging such as CT, MRI, single-photon emission CT (SPECT), or positronemission tomography (PET) are not recommended in patients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).[1][2]
Electroencephalography (EEG)
Routine electroencephalography (EEG) is not recommended in all patients with ASD and is recommended if there is a history of seizures or there is a suspicion of subclinical seizures or a history of regression.[2]
Genetic testing
Genetic testing is not routinely indicated in patients with ASD.[2]
