Bronchogenic cyst is a rare benign congenital malformation in which there is a fluid filled mass in the lungs.
What are the symptoms of bronchogenic cyst
Bronchogenic cyst is often asymptomatic and discovered accidentally while investigating other health conditions. When symptomatic, the most common symptoms of bronchogenic cyst are:
- Difficulty breathing
- Cough
- Chest pain
- Purulent sputum
- Rhinitis
- neck pain
- Diffculty swallowing
- Fever
Diagnosis
Treatment
Surgery is the mainstay of treatment for bronchogenic cyst. Complete surgical resection is curative. Prognosis is generally good but possible complications include
