Causes

The exact cause of angiodysplasia is unknown, but there are different theories:

1.Degenerative changes of small blood vessels associated with aging (most widely accepted theory)

2. long-term local hypo-oxygenation of the microcirculation from cardiac, vascular, or pulmonary disease.
