Professional Background
Dr. Sem A.O.F. Rikken obtained his Medical Degree (M.D.) from the University of Groningen. He is currently pursuing a PhD under the supervision of Prof. J.M. ten Berg and Prof. A.W.J. van 't Hof, affiliated with the Cardiovascular Research Institute of Maastricht (CARIM) Dr. Rikken's primary research is conducted at the Center for Platelet Function Studies within the Department of Cardiology at St. Antonius Hospital, Nieuwegein, Netherlands. His PhD work focuses on the development of novel pre-hospital antiplatelet therapies for patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). In addition, Dr. Rikken serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief at ''WikiDoc.org'' where he contributes to cardiovascular guideline updates.
