Overview

Mechanism of benefit:

  • Dipyridamole is a pyrimido-pyrimidine derivative.
  • Dipyridamole exerts vasodilatory effects on coronary resistance vessels and also has anti-thrombotic effects.

Contraindication:

  • Even the usual oral doses of dipyridamole can enhance exercise-induced myocardial ischemia in patients with stable angina, and therefore, it should not be used as an antiplatelet agent.
