Overview
Chest x-ray in myocarditis may demonstrate pulmonary congestion in acute cases secondary to cardiac dysfunction. Cardiomegaly may be noted in patients with dilated ventricles.
Chest X-ray
Chest radiograph findings in patients with myocarditis depend on the severity of the condition and may reveal:
- Cardiomegaly associated with cardiac failure
- Most often normal cardiac silhouette
- Pericardial thickening in presence of pericarditis
- Pulmonary edema
- Pleural effusion
