Overview
Retinoblastoma is a cancer of the retina. Development of this tumor is initiated by mutations[1] that inactivate both copies of the RB1 gene, which codes for the retinoblastoma protein.[2]
Prevention of Retinoblastoma
Because retinoblastoma is related to heredity, a parent or child can do nothing to prevent this cancer. But it is very important to detect cancer early and get the most effective treatment.
